The new line was launched to coincide with the Mid-Sha’ban religious
holiday and was completed largely using domestic technical expertise, according
to a statement from the company’s public relations and international affairs
department carried by state media.
The project was implemented despite economic sanctions and supply
chain constraints, with a significant portion of the required equipment and
components sourced through repair, refurbishment and reuse by local
specialists. The company said this approach helped accelerate commissioning and
control costs.
Valiollah Khodadai, head of the textile unit at Shahid Tondguyan
Petrochemical, said the launch marked an important step toward improving
efficiency, ensuring production stability and expanding the company’s operational
capacity.
“Relying on in-house technical know-how and the sustained efforts of
our specialists, the seventh POY line has been successfully commissioned,”
Khodadai said.
The start-up brings the POY unit to its highest production level in
years, following a prolonged halt in capacity expansion, and signals readiness
to move toward full output, the company said.
Shahid Tondguyan Petrochemical added that plans are underway to launch
an eighth POY production line as part of its strategy to reach full nominal
capacity, strengthen its competitive position in the market and improve
customer satisfaction.
The project was carried out under the direction of the company’s chief
executive and aligns with its broader strategy to achieve stable production,
expand its product portfolio and move toward full utilisation of the POY unit
in the near term.
