Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad outlined the decision in a letter to the
Minister of Economy and the head of the government's Economic Commission. He
referred to a January 5 meeting of the commission, which delegated the matter
of petrochemical service pricing to the Ministry of Oil and NPC.
Paknejad stated that previously issued service rates for 2021, 2022,
and 2023 had been accepted by both producers and consumers. However, pricing
for 2024 will be subject to further review within a specialized working group
composed of representatives from both petrochemical producers and consumers,
under NPC's oversight.
Iran’s petrochemical industry remains a strategic economic pillar,
with pricing policies closely monitored by the government amid broader efforts
to ensure stability in the sector.
