At the signing ceremony, held at RIPI, Pardis CEO, Dr. Miri Lavasani,
emphasized the pivotal role of research in advancing the petrochemical
industry.
He highlighted RIPI’s 65-year legacy of expertise as a critical asset
for addressing challenges and improving operational efficiency in the sector.
Innovative Projects for Energy Optimization
Dr. Lavasani announced a groundbreaking project aimed at utilizing
carbon dioxide from adjacent units to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and
natural gas consumption by 250,000 cubic meters per day. This initiative, set
to launch within eight months, is projected to lower gas consumption by 10%
without affecting production capacity.
Maintenance and Advanced Systems
Dr. Lavasani also underscored the importance of advanced systems and
software for managing and monitoring equipment corrosion. He called for updated
solutions to replace outdated standards, such as API 580, ensuring operational
sustainability and enhanced system performance.
Focus Areas of the Collaboration
The agreement outlines several key initiatives, including:
·
Energy Optimization:
Employing advanced algorithms, machine learning (ML), and artificial
intelligence (AI) to enhance energy efficiency and productivity.
·
Nanotechnology: Using
nanotechnology to improve equipment performance and processes.
·
Environmental Protection:
Projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, waste management, and
improving process sustainability.
·
Corrosion Management:
Developing solutions to extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce maintenance
costs.
·
Catalyst Development:
Enhancing the quality of local catalysts to reduce dependency on imports.
Human Resource Development
Dr. Lavasani stressed the importance of workforce training in areas
like risk-based inspection (RBI). Conducting these programs domestically will
reduce costs while building a pool of skilled professionals for the industry.
The collaboration is expected to result in tangible benefits,
including:
·
Reduced energy consumption
and improved process efficiency.
·
Increased production
efficiency and capacity.
·
Lower greenhouse gas
emissions and better waste management.
·
Extended equipment lifespan
through reduced corrosion rates.
This partnership with RIPI positions Pardis Petrochemical as a leader
in implementing advanced technologies for sustainable growth, marking a
significant milestone in the development of Iran’s petrochemical industry.
