TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Saeed Baghbani, Production Control Manager at Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC), has emphasized the critical need for knowledge sharing and succession planning across petrochemical complexes to ensure sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Speaking at the 31st Meeting of Maintenance Managers in Iran's Petrochemical Industry, held to promote synergy in preserving national assets, Baghbani stressed the importance of documenting experiences and sharing best practices in physical asset management and maintenance operations.

"Collaboration and knowledge exchange across all sectors of Iran’s petrochemical industry must be institutionalized," he said. "We must focus on preparing the next generation by fostering their technical and scientific expertise. Documenting the experiences of current professionals is a vital step in ensuring this transfer of knowledge."

Baghbani highlighted that specialized gatherings like this meeting play a pivotal role in enhancing expertise and facilitating collaboration. "Regularly held meetings among maintenance managers provide opportunities for synergy, experience sharing, and future partnerships," he noted.

He also addressed challenges facing the industry, pointing to a production loss of nearly 6 million tons due to maintenance and process issues, in addition to another 15 million tons lost because of feedstock shortages. "Greater attention to maintenance and repair is necessary to mitigate these losses," he emphasized.

Baghbani called for in-depth technical analysis of maintenance practices through specialized working groups, involving close collaboration with other operational units within petrochemical complexes.

He further urged ongoing support for capable Iranian manufacturers in the petrochemical sector. "Leveraging domestic expertise and capabilities remains a strategic priority for NPC, and we are committed to supporting and collaborating with local talent to advance Iran’s leading petrochemical industry," he affirmed.

The 31st Meeting of Maintenance Managers in Iran's Petrochemical Industry, hosted by Kavian and Arvand Petrochemical Companies, brought together over 60 maintenance managers from various complexes for two days in Tehran.
