Speaking at the
inauguration of the PTA2 plant's cooling tower blowdown water treatment and
recycling system, Ghasemi Shari emphasized the importance of environmental
protection as a top priority for the petrochemical industry. "Our company
is resolute in solving the region's environmental issues, and we will spare no
effort in this endeavor," he stated.
The project, part of the
company's sustainability initiatives, is one of several undertaken in recent
years with the aim of optimizing water usage and minimizing environmental
impact. Designed to address water scarcity in the Mahshahr Special Economic Zone,
particularly during peak summer months, the system utilizes advanced technology
to recycle cooling tower water, supplementing the RO water requirements for
cooling towers while conserving vital water resources.
The PTA2 cooling tower
blowdown recycling project began in November 2020, driven by Shahid Tondgouyan
Petrochemical's commitment to water conservation and resource management. The
project, completed in November 2024 through the dedicated, round-the-clock
efforts of the technical services team, is now operational.
