The unveiling ceremony took place on Tuesday, November 5, at the
inaugural conference on Inspection and Complaint Resolution in the
Petrochemical Industry, attended by Hassan Abbaszadeh, Chairman of NPC, along
with industry inspection heads and managers.
The newly introduced "High Council of Inspection and Complaint
Resolution" framework is designed to streamline inspection processes and
ensure effective responses to complaints within the sector. The system aims to
create a unified and systematic approach to coordination, policymaking, and
planning for inspection activities across the petrochemical industry.
"The petrochemical industry, under the leadership of NPC, plays a
central regulatory role in ensuring transparency and accountability,"
Abbaszadeh said during the event. "This framework will help establish a
more cohesive inspection mechanism, ensuring better coordination across all
companies involved."
The key objectives of the new system include:
- Oversight
of Inspection Activities: Ensuring that inspection processes align
with the policies and objectives set by NPC and maintaining fairness,
accuracy, and efficiency in addressing complaints across government,
semi-private, and private companies within the petrochemical sector.
- Effective
Organizational Communication: Establishing clear channels for
interaction between the NPC's General Directorate of Inspection and the
inspection units of both private and public petrochemical entities.
- Collaborative
Approach with Regulatory Bodies: Strengthening relationships with external
regulatory authorities and control agencies to ensure better oversight and
governance.
- Self-Assessment
System: Introducing a self-assessment framework based on public
indicators to enhance accountability and internal controls.
- Promotion
of a Self-Regulation Culture: Encouraging a culture of self-monitoring
and governance among employees and managers to align with the broader
objectives of the Iranian government.
- Fostering
Legal Compliance: Reinforcing the culture of law-abidance
and self-regulation to prevent corruption and improve organizational
health.
- Regulation
of Inspection Processes: Ensuring that inspection activities are in
line with management decisions and organizational directives.
- Compliance
with Regulations: Ensuring the accurate implementation of
laws, regulations, and guidelines while proposing amendments to existing
regulations when necessary.
The NPC emphasized that the new system would not only improve
inspection accuracy and reduce overlapping activities but also create a more
robust platform for preventing corruption, enhancing administrative integrity,
and fostering transparency within the growing petrochemical sector.
