TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The National Petrochemical Company (NPC) has introduced a new charter for the Supreme Council of Petrochemical Industry Inspection and Complaint Resolution, unveiled during Iran's inaugural Petrochemical Inspection and Complaint Resolution Conference.

Vahid Barzegar, head of inspection and complaint resolution at NPC, said the charter is designed to strengthen transparency and accountability within Iran’s valuable petrochemical sector. "As a key driver of economic growth and foreign exchange for the country, maintaining and enhancing this industry requires maximizing all management and production capacities," he said, emphasizing the role of dynamic regulatory bodies in safeguarding the sector’s strategic contributions.

The conference, a landmark event aimed at fostering consistency and alignment across petrochemical regulatory practices, highlighted NPC’s role as a central regulatory body and management arm. The charter, Barzegar noted, aligns with NPC’s vision of advancing accountability and responsiveness to stakeholders while enabling a collaborative regulatory environment.

Barzegar outlined core conference objectives, including creating strategic alignments across current policies, systems, and procedures in inspection and complaint resolution. He detailed several key strategic priorities:

Strategic Framework – Developing a proactive, humane-centric inspection framework to prevent issues before they arise, building resilience within organizations.

Complaint Resolution Strategy – Leveraging scientific and managerial methods, incorporating ISO37001 standards and above, to streamline resolution processes and offer innovative solutions across companies.

Transparency and Accountability – Reinforcing organizational integrity and administrative health through improved managerial, procedural, and human resources practices.

Among NPC’s initiatives to support these priorities are establishing a strategic coordination council, forming specialized task forces across fields such as production, HSE, human resources, and finance, and developing a comprehensive training program for inspection managers. Additionally, a dedicated think tank will be created for heads of inspection and complaint resolution, aimed at facilitating streamlined processes and achieving value chain efficiency across the industry.

With the charter’s unveiling, NPC aspires to standardize and digitize inspection and complaint resolution processes, aligning with both local and international frameworks to meet the evolving needs of Iran’s petrochemical stakeholders.
