Hassan Abbaszadeh, speaking at a specialized meeting on slow-release
coated urea fertilizers on Sunday, highlighted the importance of utilizing modern
methods and technologies to meet the agricultural sector's urea needs.
He noted that the collaboration between the NPC and the Ministry of
Agriculture is key to managing the supply and demand of urea.
"The production of urea at the country’s petrochemical complexes
is at an optimal level, and we face no shortage in meeting domestic needs. The
Ministry of Agriculture’s allocation ensures that farmers across different
regions of the country are receiving the required supplies," Abbaszadeh
said.
In addressing the broader strategy, he stressed the importance of
completing the value chain in the petrochemical sector. "The economic
feasibility and pricing of various fertilizers are critical, and strategic
decisions must be made in cooperation with all stakeholders," he added.
The specialized meeting, organized by the NPC's Agricultural Value
Chain Development Working Group, featured representatives from the Ministry of
Agriculture, petrochemical holdings, and companies. Discussions focused on
slow-release urea fertilizers and strategic development in agricultural
applications.
