TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Petroleum Minister, Mohsen Paknejad, underscored the crucial role of standardization in ensuring the sustainable and balanced growth of the oil industry.

He highlighted that adherence to global standards not only supports the safety and resilience of the sector but also paves the way for future generations to benefit from its development.

In a message marking World Standards Day on October 14, Paknejad emphasized the significance of this year’s theme, "A Shared Vision for a Better World: Innovation and Infrastructure in the Age of AI," urging global cooperation to strengthen industrial infrastructure and innovation. He noted the increasing importance of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) in tackling complex challenges and driving sustainable growth.

"The Ministry of Petroleum is proud to have been recognized as the leading ministry in standardization nationwide, a testament to our continuous efforts and commitment to international standards," Paknejad said.

He attributed this success to the ministry's focus on innovation, digital transformation, and the establishment of specialized committees in AI and digital technologies.

Paknejad likened the ministry’s current resilience to the period of the Iran-Iraq war, when the oil industry continued operating despite the hardships.

He expressed confidence that by maintaining rigorous standards and utilizing modern technologies such as AI, the oil industry will overcome current challenges and secure long-term stability.

In closing, Paknejad congratulated the ministry's employees and experts for their dedication to upholding standards, and expressed hope that Iran’s global standing in the oil sector would continue to improve through persistent efforts in standardization.
