The visit, which began on September 3, 2024,
included key figures such as Brigadier General Ibn al-Riza, CEO of the Armed
Forces Social Security Organization, Davood Abbasi, CEO of Shastan Investment
Company, and several senior defense officials.
In a statement to the public relations office of
the Negin Makran Petrochemical Development Company, General Nasirzadeh
emphasized that the choice of Chabahar and the Makran coasts for his first
provincial visit aligns with the Supreme Leader's directives to expedite the
development and prosperity of the Makran region.
He highlighted the economic impact of defense
ministry projects in Chabahar, noting that they not only aim to enhance
economic indicators but also address long-standing regional deprivation,
improve welfare and security in southeastern Iran, and support the Supreme
Leader's call for a "production leap with public participation."
Upon arrival in Chabahar, General Nasirzadeh was
welcomed by Mohammad Karami, Governor of Sistan and Baluchestan, Mohammad Anwar
Bajareh, the region's representative in the Parliament, Hamira Rigi, CEO of the
Chabahar Free Zone Organization, Javad Sepahi, Mayor of Chabahar, Alireza
Moniri Abiane, CEO of the Negin Makran Petrochemical Development Company, Behdad
Ansari, CEO of Padid East Petrochemical Company, and other senior military
officials.
During his visit, the Defense Minister toured the
Makran Petrochemical Industrial City, the largest industrial project in Sistan
and Baluchestan.
He also inspected the petrochemical export
terminal at Shahid Beheshti Port and the water intake and desalination project
at Makran Petrochemical, which aims to address regional water needs and provide
additional benefits. The visit concluded with an inspection of the Makran Petrochemical
power plant, which is expected to contribute to local electricity needs and
reduce power outages.
