Speaking at the council meeting held in the Petrochemical Special
Economic Zone, Barzegar emphasized that the strategic inspection councils have
been established in collaboration with holding companies and petrochemical
firms, with one of their primary goals being the enhancement of regulatory
oversight across the industry.
Barzegar highlighted that the strategic councils, spearheaded by NPC,
aim to streamline national-level regulatory practices and foster cooperation
among petrochemical companies. "Significant progress has been made in
bolstering the role and authority of inspection activities within the
industry," he noted.
He further stated that inspection efforts should not be confined solely
to the NPC but must involve the entire industry. "The industry must
actively monitor challenges and deficiencies, and work towards resolving
them," Barzegar added.
The meeting, hosted by Maroon Petrochemical Company, saw council
members sharing their perspectives and suggestions to ensure effective
oversight in the petrochemical industry.
