Shahmirzaei made this statement during the 9th National Chemical
Defense Conference, where he commemorated the martyrdom of Imam Ali and his
loyal companions, and honored the memory of Martyr Raeisi.
He emphasized the rapid growth of the petrochemical industry as a
dynamic and expanding sector.
Shahmirzaei acknowledged the persistent threats and sanctions faced by
the petrochemical industry, stressing that its development must align with the
requirements and guidelines of non-military defense.
He highlighted that NPC, representing the government, closely monitors
and enforces the laws and regulations issued by petrochemical projects and
complexes.
He further emphasized the inevitability of ongoing threats as long as
Iran adheres to its principles and beliefs.
He underscored the importance of maintaining readiness to prevent
potential incidents, advocating for training, compliance with defense
obligations, and conducting specialized exercises within petrochemical
operations.
Shahmirzaei requested the country's Non-Military Defense Organization
to expedite the process of reviewing and issuing necessary permits for various
projects to facilitate their operational commencement.
Regarding ongoing projects in areas such as Asaluyeh, Mahshahr,
Parsian Energy Hub, Kongan Seerav, and Makran, he stressed that these complexes
and projects must be fully prepared in all dimensions of chemical defense and
operate with complete safety and standardization.
He concluded by affirming NPC's readiness to cooperate and interact
with holdings and petrochemical companies in the field of chemical defense,
emphasizing the non-negotiable nature of health, safety, environment (HSE), and
non-military defense principles.
In light of the development activities in Iran's petrochemical
industry, which encompass approximately 80 active complexes producing various
polymer and chemical products, Shahmirzaei urged emergency preparedness and
crisis management, emphasizing the serious consideration of managerial and
staff training.
He highlighted that Iran hosts the country's largest developmental
workshop in the petrochemical industry, extending from Makran to Tabriz and
Urmia, with about 130 different projects underway. Shahmirzaei stressed the
imperative of utilizing all available capacities in the country to complete the
value chain optimally and strengthen Iran's petrochemical industry across all
domains for sustainable and balanced development.
The 9th National Chemical Defense Conference was held at the Petroleum
Industry Research Institute, with the presence of Sardar Jalali, Commander of
the Non-Military Defense Organization, Deputy President, Head of the
