TEHRAN (NIPNA) - Iran's Petroleum Minister Javad Owji expressed his profound sorrow and condolences on the martyrdom of President Ebrahim Raisi, who died along with several senior officials in a tragic helicopter crash. The incident also claimed the lives of Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, East Azerbaijan Governor Malek Rahmati, and Tabriz's Imam Ayatollah Al-Hashem.

“With hearts filled with sorrow, we mourn the martyrdom of the people's servant, Ayatollah Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, our beloved president, and his esteemed companions," Owji wrote. "Their tragic passing occurred in the line of duty, as they traveled to East Azerbaijan Province to serve the Iranian people. They met their fate on the night dedicated to Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Ridha (AS), attaining the esteemed rank of martyrdom."
