According to NIPNA, citing the Public Relations of Bushehr
Petrochemical Company, the sole gas refinery unit in the petrochemical industry
over the past two years, while adhering to environmental laws and standards,
has successfully transformed into one of the cleanest industries in the
country.
The primary reason for this positive outcome, in compliance with
regulations, is the implementation of the completion, modification,
commissioning, and maintenance of the Acid Gas Removal Unit or TGTU.
This environmentally friendly unit, leading the Bushehr Petrochemical
Complex towards green industries, recycles residual acid gases from the
sweetening process back into the production cycle. It separates sulfur and
converts it into molten sulfur, extracting sulfur granules.
The sulfur separation efficiency in this refinery is 99.8%, marking
one of the highest yields in sweetening and sulfur recovery units globally.
The sweetening unit of Bushehr Petrochemical Plant, the only gas
refinery commissioned in 2020, is located in Asalouyeh, southern Iran. The
feedstock for this petrochemical complex is supplied from the sour gas of the
fourth refinery of South Pars. It is the only petrochemical plant in the
country that utilizes sour gas for production.
