According to the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization, a
joint session of the social responsibility managers of companies located in the
petrochemical special economic zone was held, attended by Babak Darabi, the
social advisor to the Minister of Petroleum, Mohsen Avazdokht, the social
advisor to the CEO of NPC, and Peyman Barzegar, the CEO of the Petrochemical
Special Economic Zone Organization.
The meeting examined topics related to social responsibility of the
Ministry of Petroleum and the petrochemical industry, focusing on budget
rationalization.
Mohsen Avazdokht, the social advisor to the CEO and head of the Social
Responsibility Secretariat of the National Petrochemical Company, stated during
the session, "Due to the felt need and in harmony with supporting the
neighboring people, the budget for the petrochemical industry's social
responsibility has been increased by 50%."
He added, "The expectation of the Ministry of Petroleum and the
country from the petrochemical industry is to rationalize the costs of social
responsibility to alleviate the burdens on the people and to take effective
steps. If the budget is allocated in a purposeful manner, the results will be
tangible."
The head of the Social Responsibility Secretariat of the NPC emphasized
the necessity of amending the social responsibility regulations in the
petrochemical industry, stating, "A draft of the strategic council
regulations at the level of the petrochemical industry has been prepared and,
following consultation and approval, will be uniformly implemented in the
petrochemical industry."
Ministry of Petroleum Leading in Social Responsibility
Babak Darabi, the social advisor to the Minister of Petroleum, also
stated during the session, "The Ministry of Petroleum has long been
proactive in social responsibilities and has driven progress in every region it
has been present."
He added, "The prescribed social responsibility guidelines at the
Ministry of Petroleum level have been emphasized by the President."
The social advisor to the Minister of Petroleum stated, "Both the
Ministry of Petroleum and the petrochemical industry, like in the past, stand
alongside the people and contribute to reducing deprivation and solving
issues."
Darabi concluded by underscoring, "Social responsibility should
be purposeful. Therefore, social responsibility in the petrochemical industry
should be directed by the strategic councils of petrochemical companies and the
heads of strategic councils in each region, to have a specific impact. This is
an emphasis of the Minister of Petroleum."
Budget Rationalization of Social Responsibility
Peyman Barzegar, the CEO of the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone
Organization, reported on the actions taken by the petrochemical industry in
Bandar Mahshahr county in this session. He noted, "Social responsibility,
as an essential matter in the petrochemical industry under the Ministry of
Petroleum, is aimed at providing genuine service to the neighboring
communities, making a sincere contribution alongside the industry to the
residents, and to be effective in the region where petrochemicals, which drive
the country's economy, are active."
He added, "The petrochemical industry, county, province, and the
country benefit from social responsibility. The strategic councils of
petrochemical companies have placed significant emphasis on social
responsibility as one of their key approaches. By amending the foundation
documents, efforts are being made to rationalize the social responsibility
budget."
The CEO of the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization
stated, "In 1401, over 261 billion tomans have been paid by petrochemical
companies to the non-industrial petrochemical operations company and the
governorate of Bandar Mahshahr county. Social responsibility contributes to
enhancing the credibility and brand of petrochemical companies and reducing the
deprivation and issues of the honorable people in the region. Industry leaders
expect to witness changes in the county with the funds disbursed. For this
reason, the proposal for amending the strategic council's foundation documents
has been placed on the agenda to facilitate monitoring progress and transparent
cost reporting. Experts will play a vital role in advocating and reviewing the
implementation of the announced projects."
Barzegar concluded, "Through the proper amendment of regulations,
we can be accountable to both the people and the managers of petrochemical
companies."
