TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iran's deputy petroleum minister and the CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) visited the Tabriz petrochemical complex on Saturday and praised its use of domestically produced catalysts in its development projects.

Morteza Shahmirzai inspected the progress of the heavy polyethylene, wastewater transfer and environmental projects at the complex in East Azarbaijan province.

He also commended the complex's cooperation with the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company (PRTC) in using its catalysts in the polyethylene unit, calling it a valuable achievement for the petrochemical industry.

Shahmirzai stressed the need to continue environmental activities such as flaring reduction at the complex, which has been operating since 1990 and produces various petrochemical products such as ABS, polystyrene and polyethylene.
