TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iran will open its 27th Oil Industry Exhibition (Iran Oil Show) on Wednesday, with more than 200 foreign companies from 13 countries attending the four-day event, the director general of public relations of the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum said.

Ali Forouzandeh told a press conference that the exhibition was a unique ecosystem among developing countries and showcased Iran's oil and gas industry, which he said was the largest national asset and source of income for the country.

He said the exhibition also highlighted Iran's achievements in producing industrial equipment and providing technical and engineering services for the oil sector, which he said was unmatched by other developing countries involved in oil and gas.

Forouzandeh said the exhibition was expected to host senior domestic and foreign guests, including Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, who he said would probably come to Iran.

He said Iran and Russia would hold several joint panels and a business forum during the exhibition, as well as a large B2B meeting between Iranian and Russian companies before the opening of the event.

The official said the exhibition would also feature 100 events, memoranda of understanding and contracts between various parts of the Ministry of Petroleum and private companies, as well as 10 specialized sessions on knowledge-based companies.

The exhibition will run until May 20 at Tehran International Exhibitions Center.
