Speaking at the press conference of the 14th IPF International Conference,
Shahmirzaei said that the petrochemical industry will put 10 small and large
projects into operation and production this year, with one project to be
launched every month on average.
Shahmirzaei emphasized that the total feed needed by the petrochemical
industry should be provided by the National Iranian Oil Company, the National
Iranian Gas Company, and the National Iranian Petroleum Products Refining and
Distribution Company.
He noted that the petrochemical industry creates value added, especially
in the downstream industry sector, and currently supplies more than 15,000 active
workshops in the country's complementary industries.
Shahmirzaei emphasized that the industry should move away from selling
raw materials and instead create value added and jobs to promote the economy of
the petrochemical industry in complementary industries.
Specialists, managers, and technologists, especially in research
centers, universities in science and technology parks, and other cooperating
departments such as the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry and the Petroleum
Industry University, should play a more colorful role in accelerating the
development process and progress in the petrochemical industry.
Shahmirzaei reminded that the international IPF conference will be held
on May 1st and 2nd, at IRIB conference hall, and the
presence of experts and technologists from more than 15 countries in this
international event will help to improve the scientific level of the
petrochemical industry.
The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, pointing out that the
IPF international conference is the first in the region and is famous in the
world, said that the conference was not held in the past several years due to
the spread of the Covid-19 virus. However, this year the conference will be
held with the presence of all the activists of the strategic petrochemical
industry.
The IPF international conference will be held in eight areas,
including supply of feed, products, and supply chain, advanced solutions and
technologies in the industry, and integration and coordination between
petrochemical units and refineries.
Shahmirzaei said that the production process and the methanol market
are among the other issues discussed.
The conference is an opportunity to exchange opinions and experiences,
as the industry faced challenges for the transportation and marketing of
methanol in the last two years.
In conclusion, Shahmirzaei noted that the petrochemical industry
should aim to present an acceptable and brilliant performance this year, which
has been targeted by the wise leader and scientist of the revolution as the
year of production growth.
