The agreement is set to improve the employment rate, the production of
raw materials, and hard currency in Iran.
NPC CEO, Morteza Shahmirzaei, highlighted that the petrochemical
industry is vital in creating value-added and employment in the country.
With over 70 active complexes and 100 development projects currently
being implemented, the petrochemical industry 90 million tons of annual production
capacity and employs a high number of human resources.
This memorandum aims to solve various issues of the employment of
these forces and create better work environments through technical protection
and occupational health.
The parties involved in the agreement plan to develop indigenous
knowledge in these fields, including accident management and damage control.
According to the memorandum, the parties will also form joint
specialized working groups and provide consulting services in the field of
technical protection and occupational health.
They will participate in the production of scientific publications and
books, validate various departments active in technical protection and
occupational health, and establish new patterns of technical protection and
work health.
The memorandum aims to utilize the capacity of knowledge-based
companies in order to produce local knowledge and manufacture equipment.
Shahmirzaei emphasized the importance of the petrochemical industry in
creating employment and increasing the production of raw materials for other
industries.
He also noted that more than 90% of petrochemical industry employees
are now managed according to labor law.
This is a significant improvement compared to the time before the
handover of petrochemical companies to the private sector and the
implementation of Article 44, when workers were under the rules of the pension
fund of the oil industry.
The signing ceremony was attended by officials from both parties.
Shahmirzaei highlighted the National Petrochemical Company's
commitment to implementing the memorandum and emphasized the highest capacity
to create value-added in petrochemical units.
He added that activating this capacity will result in an increase in
employment, production of raw materials for other industries, and higher hard
currency for the country.
The petrochemical industry will play a decisive role in creating employment
in the near future, Shahmirzaei said.
The memorandum of cooperation between NPC and the Ministry of
Cooperation, Labor and Social Welfare is a significant step towards the
development of the petrochemical industry in Iran.
