The Deputy Minister of Petroleum in Petrochemical Affairs, Morteza
Shahmirzaei, said on Monday that 12 propylene from propane (PDH) projects have
been defined in the country which will render Iran a major producer of PP in
the world.
Since last March, 36 public-benefit projects by petrochemical
industries have been started in line with the policy of social responsibility,
which are being followed seriously, and several projects will be launched soon,
he said.
The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company continued: “Today, the
executive operations of Pars Petrochemical PDH/PP project with an investment
equivalent to $900 million from the subsidiary of the Persian Gulf
Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) and PDH/PP of Parsian Sepehar Refinery
Company with an investment equivalent to about $860 million from the Farman Emam
Executive Headquarters will be initiated by the Minister of Petroleum.”
He announced the construction of 12 PDH projects in the country, and
stated: “With the implementation of these projects, a new civilization for
propane will be established in the country, although planning for construction
of these projects was done several years ago and now one after the other is becoming
ready to start operations.”
