Announcing the export of Iranian catalysts to
Russia, Morteza Shahmirzaei said: "God willing, we will celebrate the
national completion of the petrochemical industry cycle in the next five
years."
Speaking on Tuesday afternoon at a ceremony
honoring and introducing the director of the Research Institute of Petroleum
Industry (RIPI) at the headquarters of the Ministry of Petroleum, Shahmirzaei described
the RIPI as a comprehensive scientific complex for upstream and downstream oil
industry, and said: “RIPI is expected to pay more and more attention to the
development of the oil industry.”
He announced the installed capacity of the
petrochemical industry as 90 million tons per year, and stressed the need to
complete the chain of products in this industry.
"Given the undergone studies, the focus
on completing the value chain is on the agenda of developing the petrochemical
industry to move towards self-sufficiency,” he said.
