According to the public relations of the
Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization, Seyed Omid Shahidinia, in a
meeting with the executives of the companies of Pardis Technology Park of the
Vice President for Science and Technology, stated: “Carrying out technical and
research cooperation in the form of a memorandum of understanding will
accelerate private sector investments to implement the propulsion projects of
this industry in Mahshahr.”
He said that completion of the production
chain of petrochemical products is considered as the main goal of the
Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization: "Currently, due to the
volume of production of petrochemical base materials, we are witnessing
self-sufficiency in some products; therefore, meeting the country's need for
some downstream products to reduce various dependencies which is currently 30% in
this region, is pretty helpful to the country’s economy.”
Shahidinia added: “The use of new and applied
technologies to implement the propulsion projects of the petrochemical industry
is being seriously pursued.”
He said that 33 investment projects for production
of downstream petrochemicals with the aim of reducing dependence on imports of
raw materials in the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone are ready to be
presented to private sector investors.
