Project to Boost Feedstock Supply to PETZONE Plants

TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Iran is developing a project which will boost the feedstock of petrochemical plants in the petrochemical zone in Mahshahr, southwest of the country.

The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Behzad Mohammadi, said once NGL 3200 project come online, the volume of petrochemical feed in the Mahshahr region will increase.

During a visit to the NGL 3200 project, Mohammadi, who is also Deputy Minister of Petroleum for Petrochemical Affairs, said: "One of our most important issues in the petrochemical industry is sustainable feedstock supply. The petrochemical industry has recently started developing NGL projects.”

He said that the construction of the national plan of the Persian Gulf Bidboland refinery, NGL 3200 and NGL3100 in order to use the flare gases optimally and sustainable supply of petrochemical feedstock are planned.

The Mahshahr hub has been developed mainly based on the feed received from NGL projects and fluctuations in the upstream oil fields of NGL projects will directly affect the region's output.
