Addressing a ceremony to sign a contract
between National Petrochemical Company (NPC) and Oil Industries Commissioning
and Operation Company (OICO) to cede operation of West Ethylene Pipeline to the
latter on Sunday, Behzad Mohammadi pointed to the increase in the number of
complexes connected to the West Ethylene Pipeline to 21 complexes by 2025, and said:
“The capacity of ethylene injection to West Ethylene Pipeline will reach 3.5
million tons and its revenue will reach $3.7 billion annually.”
"This line is one of the important steps
taken by the administration to develop the petrochemical industry in the
western part of the country, which began in the 2000s,” he said.
“With the inauguration of West Ethylene
Pipeline, the produced ethylene was transferred from Assaluyeh, south of Iran, to
the northwest of the country and many companies benefited from the offshoots of
this pipeline.”
