Addressing a ceremony to celebrate the golden year of the petrochemical
industry in Iran on Sunday, August 1, 2021, Mahmoud Aminnejad said development of
the project was awarded to PGPIC back in 2015 with only 18% progress.
"Completion of this project was a leap forward because
it was done under the toughest international conditions,” he said.
He said that the petrochemical industry has entered into gas
projects is an indication of its arrival in upstream sector of the oil
industry.
The official further expressed hope that PGPIC would enter
into further upstream projects in the future as a private entity.
Aminnejad said that with the construction of the Bidboland
Persian Gulf Gas Refinery, the 110-year-old dream of the oil industry to
collect and process associated gases was fulfilled. "These associated
gases bring wealth and value added to the country," he said.
