Behzad Mohammadi said inauguration of 17 petrochemical
projects and the 25mt increase in the country’s petrochemical production
capacity in one year will not be repeated for this industry.
He said on Sunday that even more projects were planned
to come online during the year which had to be postponed due to the coronavirus
outbreak in the country.
The official described the year 1399, which ended on
March 20, a golden and unique year for the Iranian petrochemical industry, and
added: "In my opinion, these conditions will not be repeated for this
industry."
He went on to say that the projects came online with
$11.4 billion of investment. “The industry now supplies 90 million tons of
petrochemicals annually.”
