Maroon Petchem Plant Resumes Production

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The head of the Downstream Industries Development Office said that the high density polyethylene unit of Maroon Petrochemical Plant, which was not operating due to emergency repairs, had resumed its activities on Monday.

Speaking to NIPNA, Marzieh Tahmasebi said the high density polyethylene required by downstream petrochemical industries is being produced and supplied by other petrochemical complexes, and Maroon Petrochemical Plant, which was forced to stop production due to emergency repairs, has been operating since Monday morning.

Announcing the preparedness of petrochemical complexes to provide the grades needed by downstream industries for production of various polymer and chemical products, she added: "Protecting the interests of real producers and consumers of petrochemical products is always considered as a strategy by the Office of Downstream Industries."

Maroon Petrochemical Company is designed to produce 300,000 tons of high density polyethylene annually. The facility has the ability to produce 21 different grades of HDPE, whose valuable products are for making various boxes, bottles, cosmetics, oil containers, elastic films, high-strength fibers, cable insulation, high pressure pipes and various types of packaging films.
