Speaking to
NIPNA, Mohammad Reza Zohrehvandi said Iran's petrochemical industry could tap
its potentialities in line with production leap to set the country’s economy
and industrial sector in motion.
Zohrehvandi said
preventing sale of crude oil and gas and enhancing production of petrochemicals
were one of the ways to tackle the impact of sanctions.
He said Iran’s petrochemical
output was projected to grow by 70% by 2021 which would undoubtedly make the
sector the pulse of development in the country.
The petrochemical
industry, given its role in non-oil exports and production of value-added polymer
and chemical items, does play an indispensable role in the country’s economy.
